Overview
An Aspiration that Grounds Us
At Step Together, clarity of vision has always shaped the way we grow. As we close this academic year and reflect on what lies ahead, we return to the values that sustain and define our work: care, inclusion, trust, and long-term purpose. In this spirit, we have introduced a strategic framework to guide our direction in the coming years, shaping how we educate, support, and evolve as a community.
This framework represents a living commitment to align our programs, decisions, and relationships with the needs of those we serve. It invites everyone at Step Together to share in the responsibility for our future, ensuring that what we do today lays the foundation for a more connected, compassionate, and resilient tomorrow.
Our direction is rooted in three core priorities:
1. Quality Holistic Education
We see teaching children and adults with special needs as requiring continuous professional development of the team. Starting with a holistic assessment and monitoring and tracking each student’s progress. To us, this is a commitment to education that builds trust and honors individuality.
2. Equity, Inclusion and Diversity
We hold these as the grounding values of any meaningful community, as they shape how we welcome others, how we listen, and how we build. Every person brings their own rhythm,
needs, and abilities, and we believe these differences enrich our shared space, as belonging is not about fitting in but being met with respect and openness.
3. Sustainability
We work with care for what we have and an awareness of what will be needed next. It calls us to use our time, energy, and resources with intention, holding a long view of continuity and responsibility. To us, sustainability means becoming more independent and productive, building something that lasts and remains steady for those who come after us.
Together, these priorities are the foundation of our ongoing effort to build a whole and resilient Step Together, where learning, belonging, and care remain deeply connected.
